Denise Reis is the consummate performer and champion of Brazilian music throughout the world. With an incredibly tuned voice, the singer, composer and guitarist spans the genres of popular Brazilian music (MPB) and Jazz.
Born in Belo Horizonte - Brazil, Denise worked in Rio de Janeiro, with famous musicians as Milton Nascimento, Wagner Tiso, Paralamas do Sucesso, and others. After her experience in Brazil, Denise released 2 CDs: Chá de Hortelã com Caviar e Alfândega, both extremely well received by the audience and the critics. In 2007 her international career begun and she performed in countries such as Portugal, Ukrain, Senegal, Venezuela, Israel, Canada and USA.
Denise has special vocal trumpet technique, in which she reproduces the sound of a trumpet using her lips and voice. This amazing artistic characteristic, combined with her beautiful voice and exquisite guitar playing has granted her several invitations to TV interviews at Programa do Jô, Hebe, Amaury Jr.,Adriane Galisteu, and others.
Since 2014 Denise also lives in New York, where she has regular presentations at well-known venues. With no labels or limiting definitions, we may say that Denise Reis communicates her music transcending any cultural barrier. Her art is in itself a universal language, in which emotion, technique, perfectionism and sophistication meet each other in harmony.
